Getting stuck with edits on your Squarespace site? One of the many things I love about Squarespace Websites for small business owners is their help center. It's chock full of resources and explanations about all-the-features. But sometimes it's just not enough - in that case their live chat is a good resource.
If you are ready to DIY your Squarespace website, heres a few tips for using the resources in the Squarespace Help Center
Just google it, sometimes you’ll get a better response in blogs, youtube, etc. Most often though Google will do a better job directing you to the appropriate help page than the search within Squarespaces’ help center.
For example, type Squarespace Help shipping rates into google for resources and explanations on how shipping works for e-commerce sites in Squarespace.
Once you find the resource you need, read the surrounding ones. Usually there are links to additional resources for similar topics.
Bookmark it! Next time you need this same resources, you’ll have quick access to it, saving you valuable time.
Be sure to pay attention to the directions for sites built in 7.0 vs. 7.1 as the steps will often be different.
To find out what version your site is go to Help in the bottom left corner of your main navigation. Scroll down to view your current template and site version.
Become familiar with Squarespaces terms for functions and features, it will make digesting the directions much easier.
Be easy on yourself, you’re learning something new! Take your time, and know when to tap out and ask for help. If you find your self pulling your hair out then it’s probably time to reach out to a professional to lend a hand!
Even with these tip, you might not find the exact fix or education resource you may be looking for. In those cases you may turn to google and find a blog post offering a tutorial or a youtube video walking you through the steps.
Or you can always reach out to a Squarespace designer to lend you a hand! Did you know that clients of 2 Sense Social receive videos, made just for them, whenever they need them?
It’s one thing to read a help article and fumble your way through the steps, but to get a custom made video created on the back end of your own website? That not only helps you to learn how to use your site but gives you the autonomy to make changes and updates on your own. Pretty cool, right? Everyone get’s their own hub of personalized video resources, easy to find and access whenever you need them.
